Egg Lover can beat Cholesterol

I came to realized that not everybody has the real idea of what Cholesterol really is. I am an egg lover and I’m proud to say that I never fail to have eggs as my breakfast. On the other hand, a friend who had always thought that eggs are the primary source of cholesterol has been constantly reminding me to change my diet. Ironically, she ended up having heart problem due to high cholesterol level. According to her, she loves other dairy products like cheese and beef. Why is that happening? Let me first explain to you what Cholesterol really mean.

What is Cholesterol?

Our body needs cholesterol so that it can function properly; it appears in a waxy and soft form, also known as fats. Our tissue layers are composed of fats and that will apply to animals as well, on the other hand, the producing agent of this substance is our liver. Why do we need Cholesterol by the way? If you are familiar with human anatomy, I’m sure you’re familiar with the word synthesis, can be defined as constructing, forming, manipulative and fusing; vitamin D to our skin, Cortisol (stress agent), Cholic acid (a component of bile), insulate and protect nerve fibers and also vital in cell membrane structures. As a matter of fact, there’s more to mention but this are the popular ones.

Types of Cholesterol

And there are two types of cholesterol; first would be the HDL or High density lipoprotein “good cholesterol” and LDL or Low density lipoprotein “bad cholesterol”. These both have the same role; they deliver cholesterol throughout the body. LDL is not really the “bad one” maybe not as efficient as HDL, because it will distribute cholesterol to the required areas without control and without the presence of HDL which acts as the complex cholesterol, It actually will picks up extra cholesterol from the weak and vulnerable spots hence keeping the wall of arteries from excess build up that could lead to Artherosclerosis.

 

High Cholesterol Foods

Cholesterol is not primarily obtained from eggs, ignorantly most people who refuse to eat eggs for health reason, choose other option for food like the cakes and desserts, cheese dishes, animal fats and oils, sea foods, meat products, milk products, sugar and jams, last but not least sweets, beverages like sodas and beers which contains cholesterol which will beat the cholesterol that eggs has if they consume it from time to time. The only foods that contain zero percent cholesterol are plants, nuts, vegetables and cereals.

How to Beat Cholesterol

The key to win over Cholesterol is to eat smart! Let say, you had beef for lunch; why not skipping the soda as your drinks and settle with plain water or instead of cakes, how about taking a bite of apple for desserts. Improve your lifestyle by frequent exercise and if possible stop smoking and try to include vegetables on your meals.

Too bad my friend’s ignorance led her to sickness, but it’s never too late for her. And since you are aware of these facts, I encourage you to eat smart and be healthy!
